Knowing Who I Am

I understand that even as a believer, I am going to encounter some obstacles. But because I know who I am and whose I am, I don’t start tripping because the Bibles states in 1 Cor 10:13; “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man [this simply means that what you’re going through is nothing new, others have been through the same thing and succeeded…and so can you]: but God is faithful, who will not suffer [allow] you to be tempted above that ye are able [being tempted has a broader meaning than just being enticed to sin; it is also indicative of facing trials and tests]; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”  This scripture really ought to bless you as a believer every time you hear it because this is saying that there is nothing you will face that you won’t be able to handle! Whatever situation you find yourself in, it may have come as a surprise to you but not to God. The Lord knows that you’re in it; and He wouldn’t have allowed you get in it if He didn’t know you could win it! But if by chance you decide that this current situation you’re facing is too much for you to bear, you don’t have to look for a way out because the Lord provides a way of escape. So the next time you find yourself facing a perplexing problem, a difficult dilemma, or a sorry situation…just remember who you are and shout out loud – “If I’m in it; I can win it!”
